A UK-based startup is challenging the traditional tech hiring model by paying developers directly for ethical AI work. WarpSpeed Applications Ltd, led by Georgios Dimitropoulos, runs warpSpeed OPEN—a bounty platform where TypeScript and React Native developers can earn $330 to $825 per contract without interviews or agencies. The platform, launched in December 2025, currently offers 12 live contracts focused on privacy-respecting features like end-to-end encryption and federated identity systems.

Developers simply claim a task, build it within 7-14 days, and get paid via bank transfer, PayPal, or crypto after a successful pull request. This model responds to growing frustration with surveillance capitalism and opaque hiring practices. By offering transparent, well-scoped contracts, WarpSpeed aims to prove that ethical AI development can be both sustainable and fair.

With 14 developers already working, the experiment is gaining traction among coders who want to build public goods without corporate gatekeeping.
