Nordic Capital Acquires Flowa Water Infrastructure Business from Vestum

Private equity firm Nordic Capital has agreed to purchase Flowa, a water infrastructure specialist, from Swedish industrial group Vestum. Flowa supplies engineered water solutions across the UK and Nordics, operating more than 3,000 pumps and proprietary monitoring technology for utilities and infrastructure operators.

Europe faces a massive infrastructure renewal challenge after decades of underinvestment. The UK alone will spend over £100bn ($134bn) upgrading water and wastewater systems in the coming years—double the previous regulatory cycle. This spending surge creates structural demand that plays to Flowa's strengths in the market.

Flowa has grown steadily through organic expansion and bolt-on acquisitions. The company plans to invest in service capabilities, technology, and geographic reach to build a leading water infrastructure platform. CEO Simon Göthberg said the backing will accelerate growth and deepen utility service capabilities.

The deal falls within Nordic Capital's Services & Industrial Tech focus, where it has scaled businesses in regulated markets. Previous investments include Sortera and Consilium Safety Group. Completion awaits customary regulatory approvals, with financial terms undisclosed.
