LINE and NAVER co-hosted the AI RUSH 2019 hackathon, a cross-national competition designed to explore artificial intelligence possibilities. Following an online preliminary round focused on Image Classification, thirty global teams advanced to the finals. This event aligns with LINE's 'Next LINE' vision, emphasizing AI, blockchain, and fintech to build a mutually beneficial ecosystem for its services.

The finals took place at NAVER Connect One in Chuncheon, South Korea. A Technical Evangelist from LINE Taiwan accompanied four Taiwanese teams to the venue. Beyond coding, organizers fostered community through scheduled quizzes and a venue-wide treasure hunt. These activities provided necessary breaks from the intense hacking sessions, which ran late into the night with constant access to food and drinks.

After two days of rigorous development, the Japanese team secured first place, while students from the University of Tokyo and South Korea took second and third prizes. Winners shared their strategies for analyzing data to achieve high scores. The event concluded with a relaxing Korean rail bike tour and Chuncheon chicken dinner, rewarding participants for their focus and technical pursuit throughout the month-long competition.
