CVC DIF Sells Polish Wind Portfolio to Actis in Infrastructure Exit

CVC DIF agreed to sell Klara Renewables, its portfolio of six operational onshore wind farms in Poland, to Actis. The infrastructure arm of private markets manager CVC built the portfolio between 2020 and 2021, taking the projects through procurement, financing and construction phases. The assets now deliver 171 MW of installed capacity and generate approximately 500 GWh of clean energy annually.

The wind farms benefit from 15-year contracts for difference with the Polish government, locking in fixed prices for a significant portion of expected output. Performance under CVC DIF's management has been strong, achieving around 99% average technical availability thanks to Vestas turbine technology, operational support agreements, and a dedicated local team. These long-term revenue streams underpin the portfolio's value.

The sale reflects CVC DIF's disciplined divestment programme designed to return capital to investors while realising value created through active asset management. Andrew Freeman, Partner and Head of Divestments, said the transaction demonstrates how hands-on management can deliver attractive returns while advancing energy transition in Central and Eastern Europe. For Actis, the deal provides immediate exposure to Poland's renewable energy build-out.

PwC advised on financial matters while Dentons handled legal aspects of the transaction. The Polish renewable market continues attracting infrastructure investors seeking stable, contracted returns amid Europe's energy transition.
