Wrexham boss hits Coventry City away ticket prices for fans

Phil Parkinson has sympathised with Wrexham supporters over away ticket prices for Sunday’s Championship clash at Coventry City, the division’s reigning champions. The manager called the cost "a lot" for travelling fans, with the fixture classed as Category A+ by Coventry, a tier reserved for matches against Birmingham City, West Brom and Leicester City this season.

Wrexham’s Hollywood owners Reynolds and Rob Mac announced free coach travel for all supporters attending the fixture at the CBS Arena, Wrexham’s final away game of the regulation season. Middlesbrough will visit Wrexham on the final day of the campaign, with the Red Dragons’ play-off push gathering pace after Tuesday’s 1-0 win at Oxford United.

That result lifted Wrexham into the final Championship play-off spot, above seventh-placed Hull City on goal difference. Hull face Charlton Athletic on Saturday, but Parkinson insists his side will not look for or expect favours elsewhere, focusing solely on securing their own place in the top six.

"We’re just concentrating. We know what we’ve got to do and we’re going all out to achieve it," Parkinson said. Wrexham have two games left to cement their play-off spot, a position the manager admits is exactly what the club wanted when the season began.
