Jayden Seales took 5-20 as the West Indies secured a 90-run victory over Pakistan in the first Test, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. Set 211 for victory, Pakistan were bowled out for 120, with Babar Azam scoring an unbeaten 58. Seales was instrumental in collapsing the Pakistan innings, aided by Shamar Joseph, who scored 38 in the West Indies' second innings of 181.

The West Indies had resumed their second innings on 126-7, adding 55 runs thanks to Joseph's quickfire 38. Pakistan's chase faltered early, with Seales claiming key wickets. Despite a resilient 10th-wicket partnership of 49 between Azam and Muhammad Abbas (23), Seales ultimately sealed the win by trapping Abbas lbw.

West Indies captain Roston Chase dedicated the victory to the late Sir Garfield Sobers. Pakistan, who suffered their eighth consecutive away Test defeat, will look to level the two-match series in the second Test starting August 2.
