West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves produced an extraordinary spell on day three of the first Test at Tarouba, taking five wickets for zero runs to dismiss Pakistan for 282 in reply to West Indies' 311. The 32-year-old Barbadian claimed his maiden Test five-wicket haul in his 17th match, bowling five consecutive wicket maidens after earlier conceding 27 runs in six wicketless overs.

Captain Roston Chase simply urged Greaves to maintain discipline, and the seamer responded by removing Pakistan captain Shan Masood (109) with a clever set-up, then uprooting Aamer Jamal's middle stump, trapping Ali Usman lbw, and having Mohammed Rizwan and Mohammad Abbas caught behind. Pakistan lost their last seven wickets for 38 runs.

"The ball nipped around and I got some reward," Greaves said. "To get five wickets for the first time in Test cricket, I'm really happy, but there's still a lot of work to do." West Indies reached stumps at 126-7 in their second innings, a lead of 155 runs, leaving the match finely poised.
