Ulster second row Fiona Tuite said her side "need to execute more" after a narrow 15-10 defeat against Connacht in the first round of the Interprovincial Championship. The teams were level after a tight first half, but a dominant second period from the Westerners secured the win.

Tuite praised the feisty performance, noting that the girls put in a serious shift and that Connacht’s backs threw the ball well, with Anna Mc Gann gliding through to score. She also highlighted the team's defensive standard, calling it "incredible" and a new benchmark for Ulster.

Looking ahead, Ulster will travel to Musgrave Park to face Munster on Saturday, 15 August. Tuite wants the side to improve execution, especially in the lineout and when opportunities arise around the 22. She stressed the need to stay clinical and maintain the defensive intensity.

Tuite is optimistic about future wins, citing an influx of young talent and the possibility of giving internationals more minutes. She believes the team is on the brink of success and that further improvement will bring more victories.
