Trinidad and Tobago finished 25th in the Olympic two-man bobsleigh event, declaring their 'operation don't finish last' a success despite not advancing to the final heat.

Harrogate-born pilot Axel Brown, who switched allegiance from Great Britain seven years ago, led the team alongside brakeman De Aundre John. The Caribbean nation, lacking state funding, achieved this milestone with an overall time of 2:51:05, finishing just ahead of Israel. Brown emphasized the significance: 'For little Trinidad and Tobago to do that with no state funding is huge.'

Brown, a former American football player and taekwondo medallist, revived the national programme after a 20-year absence, qualifying for both two-man and four-man events for the first time. They will compete in the four-man event later this week, building on their historic participation in China four years ago.
