Jannik Sinner completed the career Golden Masters at the Italian Open on Sunday, becoming just the second man - after Novak Djokovic - to win all nine ATP Masters 1000 titles. The 24-year-old defeated Casper Ruud 6-4 6-4 in the Rome final, showing his variety with clever drop-shots and resilient recovery after falling an early break down. "I'm really, really happy - it's been an incredible last two and a half months," Sinner said.

The speed of Sinner's achievement is startling. Djokovic was 31 when he completed the Golden Masters in 2018, while Sinner claimed his first Masters title only as recently as the 2023 Canadian Open. Former British number four Tim Henman told Sky Sports: "It emphasises how complete a player Sinner is." The world number one has won 36 of his 38 matches this season and becomes the first player to start 29-0 at the first six Masters events of a calendar year since the format was introduced in 1990.

At 24 years and nine months, Sinner has won 16 of the sport's 'big titles' - comparable to Djokovic's 17 and Federer's 19 at the same age. With four Grand Slams already secured, all eyes now turn to Roland Garros where Sinner will attempt to become just the tenth man to complete the career Grand Slam.
