Team Scotland has finalized their 25-strong swimming squad for this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The team includes three additional 2024 Olympians - Katie Shanahan, Keanna MacInnes and Lucy Hope - joining pre-selected members Duncan Scott and Angharad Evans. The selection highlights Scotland's depth in swimming talent with a mix of experienced athletes and Games first-timers.

Notable selections include Archie Goodburn, who despite being diagnosed with inoperable brain tumors in 2024, won 100m breaststroke gold at the Scottish Swimming Championships last year. Katie Shanahan returns after securing two bronze medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, while Evan Jones brings double bronze experience from Birmingham. The squad represents a blend of proven medal contenders and emerging talent.

Swimming and Para-swimming events will take place at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre from July 24 to 29. Team Scotland chef de mission Elinor Middlemiss expressed satisfaction with the squad composition, noting the valuable experience gained from Youth Games competitors. The team now shifts focus to preparations for what promises to be a home Games with significant medal potential.
