World number one Aryna Sabalenka moonwalked across Court Philippe Chatrier after ousting Naomi Osaka 7-5, 6-3 to reach her fourth consecutive French Open quarter-final. The match marked the first women's night session on the court since 2023, with Sabalenka wrapping up victory in an hour and 26 minutes before telling the crowd she wanted to "keep going."

The victory marked Sabalenka's third win over Osaka in as many months and kept alive her pursuit of a maiden French Open title. She remains the only player left in the women's draw with prior major final experience, a notable edge at this stage. The 28-year-old now meets 25th seed Diana Shnaider with a semi-final berth on the line.

Sabalenka's serving precision proved decisive against the 16th seed. She fired 12 aces to Osaka's two and won 83% of points behind her first serve, conceding just four points on her own delivery after an early break. Osaka landed only 53% of first serves and faced deuce from 40-15 in three first-set service games under constant duress.

Sabalenka stepped inside the baseline to receive second serves and claimed 21 of 35 return points. She finished 10 of 11 at the net while mixing five drop shots among her 39 winners. The top seed broke in the 11th game of the opener, then broke twice in the second set before closing the match with a trademark booming forehand.
