Ireland claimed a historic first T20I win over West Indies under dramatic circumstances at Clontarf, prevailing by one run via the DLS method after rain intervened in the final over. Captain Orla Prendergast celebrated her birthday with an unbeaten 71 from 46 balls, smashing 11 fours and a six to guide her side to 99-5 in 14.1 overs.

West Indies posted 141-8 after electing to bat first, recovering from 3-3 in the powerplay through Jannillea Glasgow's 36 off 26 balls. Ava Canning led Ireland's bowling effort with 2-11, while Prendergast claimed 2-26. The hosts looked set for defeat as rain fell with them still three runs short on the DLS calculation.

Player-of-the-match Prendergast built crucial partnerships, adding 57 with Rebecca Stokell (12) and 34 with Louise Little (9*). With the weather worsening, the final ball saw Little edge through the rain for four, securing victory as play was abandoned immediately after. The win follows Ireland's triumph over Pakistan on Sunday.

Ireland's momentum continues with Thursday's clash against Pakistan at the same venue, where they'll look to extend their winning run in the Tri-Nations Series.
