Jasmine Paolini defeated Alexandra Eala 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals, ending Eala's historic tournament. Eala, the first player from the Philippines to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam in the Open era, had upset defending champion Iga Swiatek. Paolini, the 14th seed, battled through a tough match lasting two hours and 22 minutes, overcoming a second-set challenge from Eala.

This marks Paolini's first Grand Slam quarter-final appearance since reaching back-to-back finals in 2024. She noted that the 2026 tournament has "proved a lot" to her, attributing her resilience to her positivity. Paolini will next face 12th seed Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine for a spot in the semi-finals.

Despite a nervous start, Eala fought back after dropping the first set, forcing a decider. However, Paolini's consistent play and Eala's unforced errors, including a crucial double fault in the eighth game of the final set, ultimately decided the match. Paolini acknowledged the presence of her "idol," Roger Federer, in the Royal Box, stating she tried to remain focused during the contest.
