Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson returned to winning ways at the London Diamond League, controlling the race to hold off Femke Broeders-Bol in 1:56.21 before a sellout crowd of 60,000. After back-to-back second-place finishes outdoors, Hodgkinson prioritised victory on home soil, telling BBC Sport she would now build toward the European Championships.

Fellow Briton Josh Kerr broke Hicham El Guerrouj's 27-year mile world record earlier in the meet, calling Hodgkinson's ability to handle pressure and win at home "incredible." In the men's 400m, Olympic hurdles champion Rai Benjamin ran a personal best 44.05 to beat Matthew Hudson-Smith (44.18). American Brandon Miller won the men's 800m in 1:42.19 after a world-record pace faded, with Max Burgin third (1:43.30).

Julian Alfred won the women's 200m in 21.66 ahead of Gabby Thomas, while Dina Asher-Smith finished fourth (22.88). Nigeria's Kanyinsola Ajayi stunned world champion Oblique Seville in the men's 100m with 9.84, as Romell Glave set a PB of 9.97. Pole vault star Armand Duplantis withdrew mid-competition with a thigh issue after clearing 5.95m.
