Josh Kerr’s world record mile attempt has been confirmed for the Diamond League Series event in London. The Scot aims to build on his strong showing in Monaco, where he finished a close second to Kenya’s Emmanuel Wanyonyi, who also broke the 1,000m record. Wanyonyi and other top athletes such as Olympic silver medallist Marco Arop, Olympic finalist Bryce Hoppel, and Ireland’s Mark English will compete in London.

The women’s 800m will feature Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson, world silver medallist Georgia Hunter Bell, and the Netherlands’ Femke Broeders‑Bol, who has moved up from the 400m hurdles. Julien Alfred, who ran the third‑fastest 200m in history in Monaco, will defend her London title against a world‑class field that includes American Gabby Thomas and the English trio Dina Asher‑Smith, Amy Hunt and new champion Success Eduan.
