England sprinter Amy Hunt claimed the silver medal in the women's 100m final at the Commonwealth Games with a time of 10.98 seconds. The gold medal went to New Zealand's Zoe Hobbs, who set an area record of 10.93 seconds. Australia's Torrie Lewis secured the bronze with a national record of 10.99 seconds.

Imani Lansiquot, the second English competitor, finished fourth in 11.02 seconds, narrowly missing a podium finish. Hunt expressed her belief that the gold medal was within reach, noting that she had previously beaten Hobbs in the semi-finals. "I think gold was definitely there for the taking," Hunt stated, acknowledging Hobbs' personal best performance for the win.

Hunt reflected on her race, identifying a slow start. "I think I had a really terrible first 60 metres," she admitted, "but it just shows the calibre of my top end speed that I could kind of dig myself out of the hole there." She highlighted her strong finish and her pride in her overall career achievements, which now include medals at every senior major championship, both individually and in relays.
