Wales and British and Irish Lions full-back Liam Williams has retired from international rugby. The 34-year-old earned 93 caps and scored 21 tries, winning two Six Nations titles, including a Grand Slam in 2019. He also toured with the Lions in 2017 and 2021, playing five Tests across New Zealand and South Africa.

Williams' journey from a scaffolder in Port Talbot to a professional at Scarlets, where he debuted in 2011, is a classic Welsh rugby story. He later played for Saracens, Cardiff, and now Newcastle Red Bull, with his final Wales appearance against France in the 2025 Six Nations.

He confirmed his decision on Instagram, expressing pride and gratitude for his career. Williams will continue playing for Newcastle, but his international retirement marks the end of a significant era for Welsh rugby, leaving a legacy of dedication and hard work for the next generation.
