Cliftonville FC members approved a takeover by the Toronto Investment Group (TIG) with an 81% majority at an Extraordinary General Meeting. The resolution, backed by 75% of voters, transfers ownership to TIG, ending a prolonged saga. Initial talks stalled under former chairman Kieran Harding, who paused negotiations, but current chairman Kevin Crossan reignited efforts. The £3million deal includes transfer funds for manager Jim Magilton’s side and plans for a full-time model with stadium redevelopment.

The vote marked a historic shift for Ireland’s oldest football club. Members thanked attendees for their role in scrutinizing the proposal. TIG executives Drew Green, John Muffolini, Ron Davidson, and Conor Devine pledged commitment to the club’s future. The consortium aims to stabilize the club financially while modernizing operations.

The deal follows months of uncertainty. TIG’s offer was withdrawn in January but resumed after members authorized negotiations in June. Crossan emphasized the importance of member trust in finalizing the agreement. The 81% approval reflects strong backing for TIG’s vision despite earlier setbacks.
