Kyle Lowry Retires as a Toronto Raptor

NBA champion Kyle Lowry officially retired from professional basketball on July 7th, signing a one-day contract to conclude his illustrious career with the Toronto Raptors. Lowry, 40, spent nine seasons with the Raptors, leading them to their 2019 NBA championship and earning six All-Star selections during his tenure.

Lowry expressed his gratitude to his family, teammates, coaches, and especially the Toronto fans, stating, "It's all about you. I appreciate you. Thank you, Toronto. Thank you, Canada. And as I always told y'all, it's officially happening. I'm retiring as a Toronto Raptor." He also played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, and Miami Heat, finishing his final three seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers while also working as a television pundit.

In addition to his playing career, Lowry and his wife have joined the ownership group of the WNBA's Toronto Tempo. The couple stated their excitement to support the growth of women's basketball in Canada, calling it a "true full circle moment."
