FIFA has launched an investigation into alleged racist abuse directed at American social media influencer IShowSpeed during Argentina's 3-2 victory over Cape Verde. The incident reportedly occurred at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on July 3.

IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., has gained significant online attention by live-streaming World Cup matches, even featuring FIFA president Gianni Infantino and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in some broadcasts. Footage shows the influencer, wearing a Cape Verde kit, in a confrontation with an Argentina fan.

FIFA stated that the World Cup is a "celebration of unity, diversity and respect" and that individuals undermining these values are "not welcome." This investigation follows recent comments by Celeste Amarilla, a Paraguayan senator, targeting French forward Kylian Mbappe with racist remarks. The French Football Federation plans to file criminal charges against Amarilla.
