Nordic Combined has been removed from the 2030 Winter Olympics program, marking the first time the sport will not be included since its debut in 1924. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) cited a limited competitor pool and low public interest as primary reasons for the decision. IOC President Kirsty Coventry indicated the sport might be reinstated for the 2034 Games.

In contrast, Freeride, a discipline combining skiing and snowboarding, and Synchro9 (figure skating) will debut at the 2030 Games. The French Alps will host an Olympics with 50% female participation, totaling 3,046 athletes, with 1,525 women and 1,521 men competing across 126 events. This increased female representation is partly due to expanded quotas in Luge, Skiing, Bobsleigh, and Ice Hockey.
