World number one Judd Trump will compete for his second Shanghai Masters title after defeating world champion Wu Yize 10-6 in the semi-finals. Wu, aged 22, initially took the lead in his homeland, marking three century breaks at the first major event of the 2026-27 season.

Despite a sluggish start, Trump, the 2019 world champion, rallied to establish a 4-2 lead and maintained his advantage, crafting two century breaks himself. The 36-year-old Englishman is now set to appear in his fifth Shanghai final, having secured his inaugural victory in 2024.

Trump will face either Kyren Wilson or Zhao Xintong in Sunday's best-of-21 final. He expressed his satisfaction with his performance, noting, "It is always good to start quickly in Shanghai." He added, "It will be a great game between Kyren and Xintong. It should be an exciting final whoever I face."
