Wyndham Clark will take a six-shot advantage into the US Open final round after posting a level-par 70 at Shinnecock Hills. The 2023 champion carded an eagle at the par-five 16th and finished Saturday at seven under, positioning himself for a wire-to-wire victory. Clark sits alongside just four other players still under par heading into Sunday.

Scottie Scheffler kept his career Grand Slam hopes alive with a strong back-nine rally. Starting seven strokes back, the world No. 1 responded with four birdies in six holes, including a chip-in at the 14th, to reach one under. Scheffler will play alongside Clark in the final round pairing, needing a exceptional score to catch the leader.

Sam Stevens, Sahith Theegala and Tom Kim also sit at one under, while Xander Schauffele posted a round-of-the-day 67 to join the chase. Matt Fitzpatrick slipped to one over after a 74, and Rory McIlroy fell to tied-17th, 10 strokes behind following five back-nine bogeys.

Clark has history on his side - 12 of the last 13 players with a six-shot 54-hole lead in men's majors have won. The 32-year-old frustrated by his closing bogey but acknowledged he would accept this position at the week's start. Sunday's final round coverage begins at 4pm on Sky Sports Golf.
