Jimmy Perchard built Farmers Cricket Ground in his St Martin, Jersey garden. Starting with farmer friendlies in 1977, he gained planning permission in 2003 and bowled the first ball in 2005, with former England captain Mike Gatting opening the facility. The ground, inspired by English venues like Goodwood and Arundel, grew from a Portakabin to a full pavilion with sightscreens and picket fencing.

In 2024, Farmers became the first Jersey club to win the European Cricket League, beating Roma (population 2.75M) by 42 runs despite St Martin's population of just 4,000. The ground also hosted Jersey's historic World Cup Global Qualifiers debut, where they defeated Italy's national side.

Jimmy's son Charles Perchard has captained Jersey since 2017, leading a side ranked 29th in ICC T20 rankings. After narrowly missing the 2026 T20 World Cup on net run rate, Jersey qualified for the 2028 pathway. The Farmers pipeline produced Asa Tribe, now a Glamorgan and England A star, inspiring the next generation.
