ICC No Talks with Scotland Over Bangladesh T20 World Cup Replacement

The International Cricket Council has not contacted Scotland about replacing Bangladesh at next month's men's T20 World Cup. Bangladesh has informed the ICC it will not travel to India due to political tensions, requesting its matches be moved. Scotland, the highest-ranked non-participating team, is ready but has not been approached.

Scotland's players are training for a March tri-series with Namibia and Oman. A final call on Bangladesh's participation is expected by Wednesday. The ICC's replacement criteria are unclear, though a 2009 precedent saw Scotland replace Zimbabwe, which withdrew for political reasons. Scotland is 14th in the T20 rankings.

The ICC could relocate Bangladesh's matches to a less sensitive area or co-host Sri Lanka. A report suggested Bangladesh requested a group swap with Ireland, but Cricket Ireland has been assured no schedule changes are imminent. Scotland's qualification hopes remain on hold as the situation develops.
