Barry Hawkins claimed his first Welsh Open title with a commanding 9-5 victory over Jack Lisowski in the final at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff. The 44-year-old Englishman, who lost to John Higgins in the 2018 final, bounced back to secure the championship with a series of impressive breaks.

The match began with Hawkins taking control, winning the opening frame with a century break of 105. Though Lisowski leveled the score in the second frame, Hawkins went on a remarkable run, winning six consecutive frames. His break-building was exceptional, including century breaks in the fourth frame and several half-century contributions of 67, 76, and 88.

Lisowski mounted a brief comeback in the final session, producing back-to-back century breaks to narrow the gap to 7-4. However, Hawkins responded with a crucial 68 break after a fortunate safety shot, putting him on the brink of victory. Despite Lisowski winning one more frame, Hawkins clinched the title in the 14th frame. The victory marks Hawkins' second ranking title of the season, following his triumph at the German Masters earlier this year.
