Team GB skier Gus Kenworthy will not face repercussions for a social media post expressing his views on the United States' ICE. The athlete shared an image with a graphic message about the immigration and customs enforcement agency on Instagram. The post was made before his upcoming Winter Olympics appearance in Italy, sparking controversy.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed that Kenworthy's post falls under athlete expression guidelines. The IOC does not regulate personal social media activity. This stance enables athletes to voice opinions, even on sensitive political matters. Kenworthy, who previously competed for the US, switched to Team GB in 2019.

Kenworthy, born in Chelmsford, has lived in the US for most of his life. He won silver in ski slopestyle at the Sochi 2014 Games while representing the US. The US plans to send ICE agents to the Games, causing some backlash. Watch for Kenworthy in the men's snowboard halfpipe event, beginning February 19th in Livigno, Italy.
