Greece have called up Billy Konstas, the 24-year-old elder brother of Australia Test opener Sam Konstas, for a 2028 T20 World Cup European qualifier in Finland from 14 to 21 August. Billy plays grade cricket in Sydney while working as a cricket coach and physiotherapist. He joins fellow Greek-Australian Blake Faunce, 21, in the 14-man squad overseen by coach Tim Dellor. The Hellenic Cricket Federation has also held talks with Blake Nikitaras, 26, and Peter Hatzoglou, 27, though neither is currently eligible.

Greece's strategy taps into an Australian diaspora exceeding 400,000 people with Greek ancestry, drawing comparisons to Italy's recent World Cup qualification. However, federation officials say they will exercise caution integrating heritage players, prioritising homegrown talent from Corfu where cricket has been played for over two centuries. Around two-thirds of the Finland squad were born in Greece.

Greece face a tough group including favourites Germany and Portugal, who may field former Australia all-rounder Moises Henriques and Northamptonshire batter Ricardo Vasconcelos. The top teams advance to the next qualification stage.
