Hannah Rapp, the former WBC women's featherweight title challenger, was killed Saturday morning after a car struck her while she rode her bicycle in Brazos County, Texas. She was 26 years old.

Rapp was cycling along a highway when a vehicle driven by Charles Medina, 31, suddenly stopped, reversed, and collided with her. She was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. Medina was arrested and charged with Kindes, and is being held at the Brazos County Detention Center.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said the loss of Rapp “leaves us heartbroken,” calling her an exceptional boxer and an invaluable member of the boxing family. Rapp, a native of Yorktown, Indiana, was a track athlete at Purdue before turning to boxing. She moved to College Station, Texas, where she worked as a fire and life‑safety inspector at Texas A&M while turning pro in 2024.

Rapp entered the professional ranks with an 8‑0‑1 record and challenged Tiara Brown for the WBC featherweight title at MVPW‑04 in June at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, losing by unanimous decision. The community mourns her sudden death and her bright, promising career.
