Tete’s notable career included holding the IBF super-flyweight title in 2014 and the WBO bantamweight belt from 2017 to 2019. He also secured a Guinness World Record for the fastest title-fight knockout, ending a match in just 11 seconds. His professional record totaled 29 wins across 34 fights.

Following a four-year doping ban, Tete had been training for a late November comeback. His manager confirmed the devastating timing, noting he was poised to resuscitate his career. The WBO and international fighters issued heartfelt condolences, honoring him as a true warrior and beloved champion within the global boxing community.
