Britain's Beth Shriever made history as the first BMX racer to win four elite world titles after extreme weather curtailed the UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Brisbane. Persistent strong winds delayed the start before the UCI abandoned the event, declaring results from the first round held the previous day.

Shriever, 27, set the fastest lap time in the women's event to claim an unprecedented fourth championship, adding to her world titles in 2021, 2023, and 2025, plus Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020. "I've dreamed about doing this, but obviously not in this way," said Shriever. "I laid down a solid lap yesterday, so everything happens for a reason."

In the men's event, Ross Cullen won silver with the second-fastest lap, behind Australia's Jesse Asmus. UCI regulations state that if a championship is cancelled, "the last completed round will be declared the final results," a decision supported by the Athletes' Commission, team managers, and organisers. In the women's junior event, Freia Challis edged fellow Briton Elsa Rendall Todd for gold.
