Sarah Adlington will chase what she calls a 'perfect ending' at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, competing just days after her 40th birthday. Her five female teammates average just 20 years old, creating a striking generational mix for Team Scotland's judo squad at the SECC from July 31-August 2.

Among the newcomers, 21-year-old Sunny Doig brings experience from Team Scotland's Achieve Programme at Birmingham 2022. At 18, Eva Ewing is the youngest debutant, while Summer Shaw, 22, claimed British Championships gold. Scott Cusack follows family tradition, with parents Loretta and Billy both medaling at the 1990 Auckland Games where judo debuted.

Loretta, the 1982 world champion, serves as Glasgow 2026 Sport Competition Manager for Judo, watching her son compete. Scott said having his parents compete at Commonwealth level inspired him to make them proud. Meanwhile, Ollie Short earned selection after silver medals at both the Hong Kong Asian Open and Mandurah Oceania Open.

The 12 debutants join Adlington in a squad blending veteran experience with youthful ambition. Short's brother Alex competed at Birmingham 2022, narrowly missing bronze. This mix positions Scotland well across weight classes from -48kg to +100kg.
