15-Year-Old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Poised to Break Tendulkar's Youngest International Record

India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has backed 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to handle international cricket if selected for Friday's T20I against Ireland in Belfast. The Rajasthan Royals youngster would become the youngest international player ever, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar who debuted at 16 in 1989.

Sooryavanshi's IPL campaign has been remarkable, top-scoring with 776 runs in 16 innings and smashing 65 sixes across the season. Kotak praised his composure against quality bowling, noting he faced Jofra Archer and other quick bowlers without looking bothered.

However, Kotak emphasized selection isn't guaranteed. 'There's a fine line between giving someone an opportunity and being unfair to some other player,' he said. The captain and head coach will make the final call on team composition.

The decision rests with India's management, who must balance rewarding form players with nurturing emerging talent. Regardless of Friday's outcome, Sooryavanshi appears destined for international cricket sooner rather than later.
