Wrexham Transfer Window Patience Tested Ahead of US Tour

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson calls for patience in a "slow" summer transfer window as the newly promoted Championship side prepares for a US pre-season tour without any new signings.

The Red Dragons face Leeds United in Tampa on July 26, then Liverpool in New York and Sunderland in Pennsylvania. Parkinson admitted he would prefer to have new additions for the trip but referenced last year's Australia tour where recruitment continued behind the scenes without disrupting preparations.

Departures have shaped the early window. Fan favourite Paul Mullin left by mutual consent last month, midfielder Tom O'Connor joined Peterborough United permanently, and striker Mo Faal moved to Port Vale on a season-long loan. Parkinson confirmed further exits are needed to balance squad numbers.

The challenge for Wrexham is replacing Mullin's goals — he scored 24 in League Two two seasons ago — while integrating Championship-ready talent. Parkinson's "hold our nerve" stance suggests the club won't panic-buy, but the US tour will test whether the current group can compete at the higher level immediately.
