Turkish club Trabzonspor has initiated negotiations to sign former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah. The 34-year-old Egyptian international is reportedly in talks to join as a free agent after his departure from Liverpool at the end of last season. Trabzonspor announced that Salah is scheduled to arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday, with further details about his welcome in Trabzon to be communicated through official club channels.

Trabzonspor, nicknamed the Black Sea Storm, boasts a rich history with seven league titles, including a recent success in 2022 after a 38-year drought. They are among the elite clubs to have won the Turkish Super Lig.

Salah had a highly successful nine-year tenure at Liverpool, joining from Roma in 2017. During his time with the Reds, he secured numerous accolades, including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup. He also earned four Premier League Golden Boots and was named PFA Player of the Year three times. Across 442 appearances, Salah netted 257 goals and provided 120 assists.
