Trabzonspor, nicknamed the Black Sea Storm, are set to sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, marking the club's biggest ever signing. Based in north-eastern Trabzon, the Turkish Super Lig winners claimed their most recent title in 2022, ending a 38-year wait. Salah joins former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge and former Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe in the claret and sky blue shirt.

During his Liverpool career, Salah helped secure two Premier League titles, the Champions League, and numerous domestic cups, winning the Premier League Golden Boot four times and PFA Player of the Year three times. Despite scoring 29 goals in Liverpool's 2024-25 title-winning season, his minutes diminished after a falling out with head coach Arne Slot. Initially reported to be close to Besiktas, a deal broke down over finances, and Salah instead agreed terms with Trabzonspor.

The club teased his arrival on social media, with fans gathering at Istanbul airport to greet him like a movie star. Trabzonspor's squad already includes on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana and Cape Verde World Cup stars Wagner Pina and Sidny Lopes Cabral.
