Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has secured a new five‑year contract at Anfield, extending his stay until 2031. The 25‑year‑old joined the club from RB Leipzig for £60m in 2023 and was the Reds’ standout performer last season, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists.

"I'm never happy…" he said, adding that he wants to win everything, including the Champions League. His ambition remains unchanged from the day he signed.

The deal ended months of speculation, with sporting director Richard Hughes and Szoboszlai’s camp finalising terms. With Andy Robertson leaving, Szoboszlai is a strong contender for vice‑captain and already captains Hungary.

Liverpool lost key figures like Salah, Robertson and Konate, and the shift in leadership is vital. Salah described him as one of the best players, while coach Arne Slot praised his leadership potential. Klopp noted the signing was a present and future move.

He will also lead the squad on the upcoming pre‑season tour of the United States, returning for training on Tuesday.
