Russell Martin holds no regrets over his brief 123-day Rangers reign despite being sacked when the team sat eighth in the Scottish Premiership. The 40-year-old won just five games in total, including only one league victory, before his dismissal. Martin accepted responsibility, stating "I don't regret anything" but acknowledging "it's my fault I didn't do well enough."

Martin faced intense pressure and described the abuse directed at him as difficult for his family during a period of massive upheaval at the club. As the first appointment under Rangers new owners, he oversaw significant squad changes with 14 new arrivals while trying to build cohesion. The 9-3 aggregate Champions League exit to Club Brugge capped a challenging European campaign.

Since Martin's departure, Rangers have climbed to third in the Premiership under Danny Rohl, currently a point behind Celtic. Players signed by Martin like Mikey Moore and Emmanuel Fernandez have flourished, contributing 11 goals between them. Martin suggested "less change so quickly" might have been preferable but accepted the club's decision to move on.
