Liverpool have secured Republic of Ireland midfielder Denise O'Sullivan on a permanent deal from North Carolina Courage. The 31-year-old, who had a year left on her contract, joins the Reds for a reported club-record fee of around £300,000. O'Sullivan brings significant experience, with 128 international caps and over 150 games for the NWSL side, where she served as club captain.

O'Sullivan’s career spans leagues in the United States, Australia, Scotland, and England, including a prior loan spell at WSL club Brighton. She cited Liverpool’s long-term project and facilities at Melwood as key draws, choosing the Reds over other interested clubs. The move reunites her with the English top flight ahead of the new Women's Super League season.

In her first comments, O'Sullivan called joining a club of Liverpool’s stature a "massive responsibility" and expressed pride in being closer to family. Her arrival addresses a key midfield need for the Reds, who are building a competitive squad. Fans will watch her debut as the club pushes for a stronger WSL finish.
