Defending NWSL champions Gotham FC are close to finalizing a loan deal for veteran midfielder Denise O'Sullivan from Liverpool. The agreement includes an obligation to transfer, with Gotham set to pay Liverpool €350,000.

O'Sullivan, 32, is expected to join Gotham immediately when the transfer window opens Monday and could be available for Wednesday's match against the Washington Spirit. This move reunites the Ireland international with the NWSL, where she previously won five major trophies with the North Carolina Courage, including two NWSL Shields and Championships in 2018 and 2019.

The loan structure likely helps Gotham manage their salary cap, especially after recently signing Sam Kerr and re-signing Emily Sonnett.
