Troy Deeney shares his Premier League Team of the Week after recent matches. He highlights Ferdi Kadioglu's crucial defensive block for Brighton despite not being known for defending. Jefferson Lerma earns inclusion for Crystal Palace after scoring, making big tackles, and playing out from the back as a centre-midfielder deployed at centre-back.
James Justin of Leeds United is praised for his versatility and transformation since moving from Leicester, with Deeney believing he doesn't get enough credit as a right wing-back or centre-back, especially after his standout performance against Arsenal. Ethan Pinnock at Coventry City is lauded for his physical presence and calming influence, with Deeney admitting he initially doubted the signing but now sees Coventry improving week-on-week. Riccardo Calafiori is named Arsenal's best current forward, noted for strong defensive contributions, goal threat, and assist potential from advanced positions.
Deeney's selections emphasize defensive solidity, tactical flexibility, and impact beyond traditional attacking stats.
