Former footballer Joey Barton has been denied bail following a court hearing. Barton did not attend the recent hearing at Liverpool Crown Court where his application was refused.

The former Manchester City and Newcastle midfielder shares charges with Gary O'Grady, who was released on conditional bail after appearing in court on March 10. Their alleged victim, Kevin Lynch, former manager of Prescot Cables and City Liverpool clubs, was hospitalized following the incident. Barton is scheduled to next appear before the court on April 7.
