Ipswich Town has signed defender Issa Diop from Fulham for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old Moroccan international, who played five games for Morocco during their World Cup quarter-final run, has agreed to a contract until the summer of 2030. Diop brings extensive Premier League experience, having played 173 games in the top flight for Fulham and West Ham.

Diop expressed his excitement about the move, stating, "I know how big the club is and have enjoyed all of the conversations I have had before making the move. I know this is the right place for me." He joins Ipswich after a summer representing Morocco at the World Cup.

Previously with West Ham and then Fulham for a £15m transfer in 2022, Diop made 96 appearances for the Cottagers, though he only started eight Premier League games last season. He is Ipswich's sixth summer signing, following Abdul Fatawu (£20m), Emersonn (£26m), Cedric Kipre, Chuba Akpom, and Kayne van Oevelen.
