Hojlund Napoli Move a Formality

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna says making Rasmus Hojlund's move permanent is a "formality." The 22-year-old striker, on loan from Manchester United, has scored nine goals for the Serie A champions. His £38m transfer is tied to a Champions League qualification clause, which Napoli currently meets.

Hojlund's exit from Old Trafford became inevitable after United signed Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo last summer. Despite expressing a desire to stay, the Danish international was pushed down the pecking order. His recent social media post celebrating the Italian Super Cup suggested he already views the move as a success.

Manna noted that while other "storied clubs" showed interest, Hojlund's preference was decisive. The obligation to buy clause activates if Napoli secures a top-four finish. With Antonio Conte's side sitting third, that condition looks likely to be met, turning a season-long loan into a permanent fixture at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
