Northampton Town have moved swiftly to appoint Chris Hogg as their new manager on a two-year contract. The 41-year-old former Norwich City assistant head coach takes charge with the club sitting at the bottom of League One, having won just one of their previous 16 games under predecessor Kevin Nolan.

Hogg brings extensive experience as a number two to multiple clubs, having worked alongside Liam Manning at MK Dons, Oxford United, and Bristol City before leaving Norwich in November. "The work has already started to deliver a successful season," he stated, emphasizing a philosophy that values possession but insists "this is a results business."

The new manager faces a significant challenge, with the Cobblers finishing six points adrift at the bottom of League One, 17 points from safety. Former defender Chris Doig will join as assistant head coach after leaving a similar role at Boston United, as Hogg looks to change the mentality and rebuild the connection between players and supporters at Sixfields.
