Harry Wilson pulls out of Wales friendlies amid contract uncertainty

Fulham forward Harry Wilson and Swansea defender Ben Cabango have withdrawn from Wales' upcoming international friendlies against Ghana and Romania. Wilson, who has been one of Wales' most consistent performers under Craig Bellamy, cited personal reasons for his decision. The 29-year-old has scored 17 goals for his country, with 12 coming in the past three years, establishing himself as a regular in the national team setup.

Wilson's withdrawal comes at a pivotal time as his Fulham contract expires this summer. Several Premier League clubs including Aston Villa, Everton and Leeds United have been linked with the forward, making these matches important audition opportunities. His absence leaves Wales without a player who has contributed nearly half of his international goals in recent seasons.

Ben Cabango, who featured 47 times for Swansea this campaign, also steps away from international duty. The uncapped pair Cameron Congreve and Ollie Bostock receive call-ups as replacements. Congreve spent the season on loan at Dundee while Bostock represents West Brom's youth setup.

Wales face Ghana at Cardiff City Stadium on June 2 before traveling to Bucharest for the Romania fixture. These matches serve as preparation for upcoming competitive fixtures, giving manager Craig Bellamy chance to assess his squad options ahead of crucial qualification campaigns.
