A man has been sentenced for sending racist abuse to Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz. Harry Brown, 25, from Barrow, targeted the Brazilian after he scored against Liverpool in 2024 and 2025. Brown sent messages including a monkey emoji and a wish for Muniz's family to be harmed, which the player called "disgusting and offensive."

The court handed Brown a three-year football banning order and 150 hours of unpaid work. He admitted two malicious communications offences. The abuse followed Muniz's goals in a 2-2 draw at Anfield and a 3-2 Fulham win, with the player reporting the messages to his club and police.

Fulham and Cumbria Police condemned the abuse, stating there is no hiding place for online hate. The case underscores the serious consequences for racist behaviour in football. Muniz's response highlights the personal impact on players, while the sentencing serves as a warning to other potential abusers.
