Fulham Silva Ban Suspended

Marco Silva successfully appealed his one-match touchline ban, with the suspension now extending until the end of the 2026-27 season. The Fulham manager had been facing disciplinary action after critical comments about referee John Brooks following West Ham's 1-0 victory over the Cottagers in March. The Portuguese coach avoided immediate sideline restrictions but must still pay the financial penalty.

The FA charged Silva for "acting in an improper manner by making comments that imply bias and/or question the integrity" of the match official. After Fulham's defeat, Silva told BBC Match of the Day that Brooks' decisions were at a "very low level," adding it had been the "story of our season" when the official had been in charge of Fulham's matches. £90,000 fine remains in place despite the partial appeal success.

The independent appeal board upheld only the portion of Silva's punishment related to his absence from the touchline. The Football Association confirmed that written reasons for the decision "will be published in due course." This resolution means Silva will remain on the sideline for the remainder of his original ban period while the longer suspension provides clarity for future seasons.
