Nottingham Forest have signed Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting in a deal worth a reported £34m. The 22‑year‑old signed a four‑year contract with an option for a further year.

"I am very happy to be here," Diomande said. "It is a historic club, and it motivates me to join such a club," he added, expressing confidence that the team can achieve good things this season and looking forward to meeting players and head coach.

The defender made 132 first‑team appearances for Sporting and has 15 caps for Ivory Coast, also featuring at the 2026 World Cup. His experience in Portugal’s top flight and international exposure will strengthen Forest’s backline.

Forest aims to boost its defence ahead of the Premier League campaign, and Diomande’s pace and tactical awareness are expected to add depth and quality to the squad. More to follow.
